What States Have Flash Floods?

Flash flood watches and warnings continue to take place in parts of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Colorado.

Flash floods occur from a rapid rise in water levels along rivers, creeks, arroyos, or even normally dry land areas. Flash floods generally take place within 6 hours of rainfall. They frequently happen with little warning.

Listen to your local news for weather updates and know when to evacuate:

A Flash Flood Watch is issued when conditions are more conducive to flooding than on a normal day.

A Flash Flood Warning is issued when flooding is likely or is already occurring.

Remember if you do evacuate, do not drive through flooded roadways. The depth can be deceiving. Attempting to drive through a flooded area is extremely dangerous and a large risk to you and your passengers.
