Here is what we expect our Staff Accountant to do within a few months of working with RMC:

  • Accounting close cycle
    • Post a variety of adjusting, recurring, and unique GL entries
    • Help coordinate close deadlines across multiple departments
    • Assist with financial statement review
    • Prepare financial statements and other elements of the reporting package
    • Compile, review and post month-end project revenue and job cost accruals
  • Expense allocations
    • Prepaid assets
    • Workers comp, auto and other insurance
    • Long- and short-term debt obligations
    • Other allocation of costs as needed
  • Prepare daily/monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Assist management with ad hoc reporting and general information requests as needed
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset register
    • Book all depreciation and amortization expenses.
    • Account for new assets and disposal of retired assets.
    • Monthly review of FA register to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain Balance Sheet schedules to support account balances and prepare reconciliations as needed
  • Maintain Debt Schedule to track loans
  • Support the Controller and VP of Finance with other duties including
    • Annual insurance renewals, financial review and other projects
  • Assist with implementation of new digital time keeping system
    • Help with rollout of mJobtime and related training
    • Assist Payroll Supervisor with implementing new processes
    • Help to key in daily timecards while new software is implemented
  • Prevailing wage and certified payroll reports
  • Creation and processing of monthly commissions report
