The Administrative Assistant I is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administrative tasks relative to their division/department. This position provides general clerical support to managers, supervisors, administrators, and supervisory staff. The Administrative Assistant I is responsible for supporting several tasks or requests simultaneously. Reporting lines may vary depending on department.
Core responsibilities for the position are as follows:

• Answers phone calls and responds to general inquiries or forwards to appropriate staff member(s) for handling.
• Provides general support to visitors and new employees.
• Depending on department assignment, may serve as point of contact for staff and key stakeholders.
• Carries out general administrative tasks (i.e. filing, preparing correspondence from draft, scanning, copying, and collating).
• Performs basic data entry, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
• Prepares and directs mail and incoming packages or deliveries.
• Maintains or supports maintenance of inventory of office supplies, anticipates needed supplies, and places orders, as necessary.
• May assist in scheduling meetings, coordinating department activities, and preparing meeting rooms.
• At direction of supervisor, may be required to maintain files pertinent to department operations, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.
• Depending on department assignment, may assist with asset management, including tracking inventory, restocking inventory, packaging asset items for delivery and updating tracking system.
