How To Prevent Mold In The Summer

Mold will grow and creep up on  you without a sign, especially during the summer months! Mold will hurt you! It is important to keep mold out of your workplace and household so continue reading this blog to learn some easy ways to prevent mold from hurting you and others.

  • Prevent water leaks: water is the number one source for moldy environments, make sure to fix leaking pipes, showers and roofs.
  • Keep Roof Gutters Clear: gutters are the first place on a structure that will encourage mold growth due to moisture and leaves and other debris that hits the roof. Gutters need to be inspected and cleaned regularly by professionals.
  • Proper Ventilation: Areas that accumulate high amounts of moisture require proper ventilation. Make sure that kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms or any other high-moisture rooms have efficient ventilation, or make sure to run fans and open windows.
  • Condensation: Condensation during the summer is particularly common because of the use of air conditioning units and fans, make sure to inspect areas like concrete walls, windows and metal pipes to make sure they are not building condensation and providing a ripe situation for mold to grow.
