Working effectively and efficiently is a trademark of Restoration Management Company (RMC). Recently, a team of nearly 80 of our crew members worked to restore a financial institution’s property. Our client’s building suffered significant flood damage and needed major cleaning, sanitization, restoration and reconstruction services. RMC completed this multi-million dollar project ahead of schedule and we are proud of the successes experienced.
With the heavy rain that California endured earlier this year, our client’s 50,000 square foot business operation center suffered severe flooding affecting all the surrounding buildings and parking lot in the complex. Emergency responders assisted in the evacuation of personnel, and arrangements were made to relocate employees to office space elsewhere. “With this type of damage, you have to act quickly to remove water, mud and all related potential hazards left by flooding. We responded right away, the reconstruction phase began immediately after the initial emergency phase was completed. ” said project director Jeff Farley.
We understand business interruption can be costly and we will work around the clock to get your business running again.
“The restoration and reconstruction effort was a large undertaking – but it was a responsibility we were prepared for. RMC has been performing large scale losses like this for over 32 years. We were prepared when the call came in from our client.” added Farley.
RMC was equipped with generators and ancillary power equipment to install temporary lighting, vacuum standing water, shovel out barrels of mud, and begin structural drying with large industrial dehumidifiers. After all the water was extracted and the indoor environment was stabilized, we began removing flooring, walls, and trim that were considered a total loss.
Farley shared that, “we had to go all the way down to the building’s steel framing in most areas to properly sanitize the entire structure and prevent future mold or bacterial growth on impacted surfaces. The flooding and mud ran throughout the building and into the parking lot creating a hazardous situation. To protect occupant safety our process must be thorough. Ultimately, we were able to ensure the building was clean and restored to a safe working condition.”
Once the building was dry and demolition completed, plans to begin reconstruction were coordinated with client needs to meet a tight timeline, which allowed re-occupancy as soon as possible and saved the business thousands of dollars in ongoing costs caused by the business interruption.
Overall, this project touched many of the expert services RMC provides: emergency response, clean up, demolition, hazardous waste removal, sanitation, building stabilization, and reconstruction.
This is one of many successful commercial projects completed this year due to the great RMC team and the quality communication we have with our clients.
